Our Journey
Where It All Began
In May 1979, Sathara Publishers launched its first educational magazine, Sathara. Targeted at students preparing for their O/L and A/L exams, Sathara was the first of its kind in Sri Lanka—a publication dedicated solely to helping students expand their knowledge across a variety of subjects. The magazine was an instant success, resonating deeply with students, teachers, and parents, as circulation grew steadily week after week.

From Small Beginnings to a State-of-the-Art Printing Press
In 1982, Sathara Publishers took a significant step by establishing our own printing operations. Starting with a single letterpress machine in a small rented space in Maharagama, we were able to oversee the production quality and maintain high standards in all our publications. Today, our printing press has grown into a fully equipped facility featuring multiple offset machines, advanced folding and binding equipment, and cutting-edge technology that ensures our books and magazines meet the highest standards of quality.
